    Zheng Qinwen Undergoes Right Elbow Surgery

    Zheng Qinwen is recovering after present process arthroscopic surgical procedure on her proper elbow.

    The Olympic gold-medal champion mentioned on social media she’s been affected by elbow ache in latest months.

    “Over the previous months, I’ve been coping with persistent ache in my proper elbow throughout coaching and matches. Regardless of attempting varied remedies to handle it, the discomfort by no means totally went away,” Zheng wrote in an Instagram publish. “After consulting with elbow specialists and discussing totally with my staff, we determined that arthroscopic surgical procedure was the best choice to completely resolve the difficulty.

    “Yesterday, I underwent the process efficiently, and I’m grateful to have it behind me.”

    It’s unsure when the previous Australian Open finalist can return although Zheng mentioned she envisions “only a quick break.”


    “Now begins the restoration journey. Over the following few weeks and months, I’ll be focusing solely on rehab—doing every little thing I can to come back again stronger and more healthy,” Zheng mentioned. “That is only a quick break, and I see it as a vital step towards a greater model of myself on courtroom.”

    The world No. 6 reached the quarterfinals or higher in six of her final eight tournaments.

    A Rome semifinalist, Zheng reached the Roland Garros quarterfinals and Queen’s Membership semifinals bowing to Wimbledon finalist Amanda Anisimova earlier than she suffered a first-round loss to Katerina Siniakova at Wimbledon.
