Wales head coach Steve Tandy has added former Wales internationals Duncan Jones, Dan Lydiate and Rhys Patchell to his teaching employees.
Former Wales loosehead prop Duncan Jones will be a part of Tandy’s staff as scrum coach. The 2005 and 2008 Grand Slam winner has held the identical position with the Ospreys since 2018.
One other Grand Slam winner, Lydiate, will work alongside Tandy on the Welsh defence over the Autumn Nations Sequence, the place Wales host Argentina, Japan, the All Blacks and South Africa. The 2013 British & Irish Lions collection winner retired from rugby on the finish of final season, having served as a player-coach for the Dragons.
One other former Wales worldwide who not too long ago joined Lydiate in retirement, Patchell, will be a part of the employees as kicking coach. The previous fly-half works alongside Lydiate on the Dragons, whom he joined after asserting his retirement in September.
With Matt Sherratt and Danny Wilson already a part of Tandy’s set-up, Neil Jenkins is the ultimate addition to the staff, the place he’ll proceed his position as abilities coach.
“I’m delighted that Duncan, Dan and Rhys will be joining us for the Quilter Nations Series and I’d like to thank the Ospreys and Dragons for allowing them to take up this opportunity with Wales,” Tandy said.
“I’m excited to have the full coaching team confirmed for our four games this autumn and I know we’re all relishing the chance to get stuck into our campaign.”
WRU director of rugby and elite performance Dave Reddin added: “Bringing Duncan, Dan and Rhys in for the autumn to work alongside Steve, Danny and Matt gives us a good balance in the coaching team.
“We said at the outset that we might have some interim appointments and this is the right option for us at this point.”
Wales get their campaign underway against Argentina on November 9.
