    Sergio Garcia won’t play Irish Open after Ryder Cup omission

    Sergio Garcia has withdrawn from this week’s Irish Open, telling GolfMagic that the sting of not being picked for the Ryder Cup led to his choice.

    The Spaniard was not amongst captain Luke Donald’s at-large picks for Group Europe forward of its showdown in opposition to the US at Bethpage Black later this month.

    Donald’s choice was not an enormous shock; Garcia had only one top-10 end in his remaining eight LIV Golf occasions of the 2025 season.
