    Scotland bring in replacement after Ben White’s Lions call

    Sale Sharks scrum-half Gus Warr has been referred to as as much as the Scotland squad after Ben White left the squad to hitch the British and Irish Lions.

    White was drafted into Andy Farrell’s squad following a hamstring damage to Tomos Williams sustained within the 54-7 victory over the Western Force on Saturday.

    With Scotland at the moment in New Zealand forward of a conflict with New Zealand Maori in Whangarei on Saturday, White made the flight over the Tasman Sea.

    Warr will now look so as to add to his two Scotland caps, having made his debut this time final yr as Gregor Townsend’s squad toured the Americas.

    This is the second change Townsend has had to make to his squad ahead of contests with New Zealand Maori, Fiji and Samoa, after Northampton Saints’ Rory Hutchinson changed Matt Currie final week. 

    “It’s fairly loopy and it’s not sunk in but to be sincere,” White stated after his call-up to the Lions.

    “He (Andy Farrell) referred to as me this morning and I’ve not stopped shaking since. It’s an unbelievable honour.

    “I referred to as my Mum and Dad immediately. They have been extremely proud and it was a tremendous telephone name to have.

    “It’s one thing you dream of however not one thing you assume you’ll do. Alongside your rugby journey there are lots of people who show you how to to be the place you, particularly your loved ones so I’m extremely grateful (for the chance).

    “There are a good few Scottish boys within the squad so it’ll be good to see them once more and meet the fellows I don’t know too nicely. I’m actually excited to get to know everybody and get going.”
