    Oscar Piastri rediscovered his sturdy Dash Qualifying type in Qatar as he took pole place on his remaining lap, edging out George Russell and his McLaren workforce mate Lando Norris to the highest spot.

    The Australian’s 1m 20.055s effort was sufficient to displace the Mercedes by simply 0.032s, offering a suitably dramatic finish to the close-fought session. With Norris set to start out the Dash from third place, he can be centered on passing Piastri as early as attainable to proceed his ambition of securing the title this weekend.

    Each Piastri and Verstappen are 24 factors adrift of Norris within the Standings, which means that the Briton must outscore them by two factors on the chequered flag in Sunday’s Grand Prix to seal his maiden crown. However Piastri is piling the strain on along with his Dash pole and former success at this circuit, leaving Norris with loads of work nonetheless to do.
