Newcastle director of rugby Steve Diamond is to face a disciplinary listening to on Friday for alleged verbal abuse in the direction of match officers.
The offence is claimed to have taken place after the Falcons’ 17-15 Gallagher Premiership defeat at Exeter on March 29.
Diamond, who has a chequered disciplinary document, has been charged with conduct prejudicial to the pursuits of the sport and/or union.
“This one was determined by the officers,” he stated after the sport with Exeter. “There’s a clear act of foul play within the lead-up to the attempt, and I don’t know for the lifetime of me why the TMO doesn’t take a look at it a minimum of.”
He added: “If we’re going to take foul play out of the sport, then let’s not waste time and simply have a look at ahead passes to see whether or not a attempt is a attempt or a attempt will not be a attempt.”
