    Karting expertise from throughout South America compete in thrilling regional championship

    Over 60 drivers from 7 South American nations competed within the 2025 South American Karting Championship, held in Chile over 24 – 27 July 2025. Organised by the Chilean Federation of Motor Sport (FADECH) and held on the Circuito de Karting Membership Aeromodelos Chile, the occasion attracted giant native crowds eager to witness the thrilling racing motion from the driving stars of tomorrow.

    The occasion was a celebration of rising karting expertise throughout South America, marked by fierce competitors and passionate fan help. The South American Karting Championship not solely showcased the continent’s rising enthusiasm for the self-discipline but in addition served as an important proving floor for younger drivers, testing their racing ability and agility earlier than advancing to FIA worldwide karting occasions.

    The four-day spectacle introduced collectively younger racers from throughout South America with dignitaries from the area current to witness the extreme wheel-to-wheel motion on show. Mauricio Melo, President of Federacion Chilena De Automovilismo Deportivo (FADECH) was proud to host President of the Chilean Olympic Committee, Mr. Miguel Angel Armando Mujica Mind on the ultimate day of motion as Chilean drivers Diego Pérez and Agustín Sepúlveda each gained on house soil within the OK Junior class and OK class respectively.

    To help the younger drivers to progress up the motor sport pyramid as they start their racing careers, the winners of the OK and OK Junior classes had been awarded with free journey and entry to the FIA Karting World Championship to be held in Kristianstad, Sweden over September 11 – 14. Offered by the FIA South America VP Motorsport Improvement Fund, this prize displays the FIA’s dedication to breaking down the boundaries of entry into motor sport and supporting grassroots driving expertise.

     

    Mauricio Melo, President of Federacion Chilena De Automovilismo Deportivo (FADECH), stated:

    “We had been extremely proud to host the South American Karting Championship right here in Chile and delighted that 2 Chilean drivers gained within the OK and OK Junior classes. This occasion was a superb celebration of the way forward for motor sport in our area. The championship occasion showcased the unimaginable younger expertise we now have throughout South America and I sit up for seeing how Agustín and Diego get on on the FIA Karting World Championship in September.”

    Diego Pérez, winner of the OK Junior class, stated:
