Texas Tech Crimson Raiders pitcher NiJaree Canady’s legend continues to develop.
On Tuesday, in the future after pitching one other full recreation to ship Texas Tech to its first Girls’s Faculty World Collection championship spherical, supervisor Gerry Glasco advised reporters that the Crimson Raiders ace has been coping with a hamstring damage since February. (h/t ESPN)
Canady has thrown each pitch for Texas Tech throughout its unprecedented run. Per ESPN’s Jake Trotter, Canady is the primary WCWS pitcher to throw each pitch for a group that reached the finals since former UCLA ace Rachel Garcia (2019).
Coming into Monday’s semifinal in opposition to four-time defending champion Oklahoma, Canady had thrown 362 consecutive pitches this postseason. She threw one other 106, together with 75 strikes, within the 3-2 walk-off win.
