    Newcastle Falcons have added to their pack with the signing of Freddie Clarke on a one-year deal, their third new arrival of the week.

    Ongoing talks over a possible Purple Bull takeover proceed to hover within the background, with many believing the transfer may rework the membership’s spending energy in future switch home windows.

    The 32-year-old ahead joins after 9 seasons with Gloucester, making near 200 appearances and that includes 23 instances final season. Standing 6ft 5in and weighing 114kg, he brings important Gallagher Premiership expertise to Kingston Park and may cowl each second row and blindside.

    He follows the return of hooker George McGuigan and the seize of Scotland lock Jamie Hodgson, as Newcastle look to reshape their squad forward of the brand new marketing campaign.

    Clarke stated: “I’m excited for a recent problem, in a brand new metropolis with an important group.”

    Director of rugby Steve Diamond added: “Anybody who’s watched the Premiership lately will know that Freddie’s a top quality participant. He performs throughout a plethora of positions, which supplies us actual flexibility within the pack, and he’ll add an enormous quantity to the group each on and off the sphere.”
