“An all time second for Robert Kubica,” F1 commentator Alex Jacques wrote, echoing the feelings of many. “His goals of racing for Ferrari in F1 had been dashed by a horror crash which might have ended most careers, a misplaced LMP2 win on the final lap in ’21 added extra heartbreak, right this moment a comeback for the ages is full. Congrats to the entire #83 entry”.
Ferrari group boss Fred Vasseur is aware of Kubica properly from their time collectively at Alfa Romeo when Kubica was the group’s reserve driver, and was one other who wished to take the chance to pay tribute to the favored racer.
“I’ve a detailed relationship with Robert, he stayed with me a few years at Alfa Romeo and earlier than in F3 System Renault,” Vasseur defined after the Canadian Grand Prix.
“For me, he is an extra-terrestrial. What he is doing is mega and to win in Le Mans on this state of affairs and to be the chief of the automobile, to [lead] the group, it is one thing that I can not think about.
“I am very, very happy for Robert. He had a chaotic profession in motorsport, and once you see the extent of effort that he put into his profession, I am very, very happy for him to have this type of outcome right this moment.”
