The LIV Golf League is altering the format for its season-ending group championship that may remove first-round byes for the highest seeds and add a play-in match for the 2 lowest seeds.
The modifications will happen on this season’s group championship, which is scheduled Aug. 22-24 at Saint John’s Resort in Plymouth, Michigan.

The groups which are twelfth and thirteenth within the factors standings after the LIV Golf match in Westfield, Indiana, on Aug. 15-17 will face off within the play-in match.
The group that secures two factors wins the match and advances to the quarterfinals. The dropping squad is eradicated.
Each golfer from the 12 remaining groups will compete in match play on Friday and Saturday, in addition to Sunday’s stroke-play finale.
