    Chris Gotterup earns second career win at Scottish Open

    Chris Gotterup shot a 4-under par 66 to outduel Northern Eire’s Rory McIlroy and win the Genesis Scottish Open on Sunday at North Berwick, Scotland.

    Gotterup’s 15-under 265 complete was two strokes higher than McIlroy and England’s Marco Penge at The Renaissance Membership.

    Gotterup gained for the second time on the PGA Tour. Sunday’s final result assured him a spot in The Open Championship throughout the coming week.

    Penge shot 66 within the closing spherical and McIlroy posted 68.

    McIlroy, aiming to win the match for the second time in three years, led after back-to-back birdies on the fourth and fifth holes. However after a birdie on No. 8, he had pars throughout every of the final 10 holes.

    Denmark’s Nicolai Hojgaard (64) and England’s Matt Fitzpatrick (67) shared fourth place at 12 beneath.

    Gotterup used 4 birdies on a six-hole stretch ending at No. 12 to maneuver to the highest. He held a two-shot edge till his bogey on No. 15, the place he hit his tee shot within the tough.

    However on the following gap, Gotterup rolled in a 10-foot birdie for a two-shot benefit once more.
