Drop shot artist Corentin Moutet dropped an enormous win in Mallorca—and landed his first Tour-level ultimate in 5 years.
The left-handed Frenchman beat third-seeded American Alex Michelsen 6-4, 7-6(3) to advance to the Mallorca ultimate.
It’s Moutet’s first ultimate since he bowed to Andrey Rublev within the 2020 Doha ultimate.
Moutet will meet fourth-seeded Tallon Griekspoor in tomorrow’s ultimate.
“I’m very comfortable about my efficiency,” stated Moutet, who beat his second seed of the event. “He’s such a fantastic participant. A superb man as properly, so I used to be comfortable to share the courtroom with him.
“I really feel higher and higher on daily basis. I’m enjoying higher from the baseline. It was good to play at night time as we speak. It was not that scorching like the opposite days, so I’m very comfortable.”
Earlier, Griekspoor saved all six break factors he confronted in a 6-4, 6-4 win over second-seeded Felix Auger-Aliassime.
