    “We had a risk to have Franco within the staff and we tried to swap, to see if it’s higher for the staff, if it’s higher from Franco. The staff has to seek out the easiest way doable to be aggressive.”

    In Alpine’s press release confirming the choice, Briatore was quoted as saying that “having reviewed the opening races of the season, now we have come to the choice to place Franco within the automobile alongside Pierre [Gasly] for the subsequent 5 races”.
