Lorenzo Musetti is having fun with his time as certainly one of two Italian males contained in the High-10 of the ATP’s rankings (it’s the primary time that has ever occurred), and on Friday in Rome he received his first match as a High-10 participant.
Musetti, who defeated Finland’s Otto Virtanen 6-3, 6-2 in 86 minutes, will face American Brandon Nakashima within the third spherical. The Italian is now 18-4 for the reason that starting of his run to the Olympic bronze medal in Paris final July.
A finalist in Monte-Carlo and a semifinalist at Madrid, Musetti is hoping to succeed in past his career-best efficiency on the Foro Italico – a spherical of 16 look in 2023.
